2012 promises to be a GREAT year for the World Steel Challenge match! With past sponsor support, thrilling side matches and an unparalleled commitment to excellence, we’re really looking forward to a great year!  2012 marks the beginning of our relationship with the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof! This spacious range will be close to all the action; lots of hotels, restaurants and family attractions (only an hour from Disney World!) for your time away from the range as well as great service features such as onsite ammo sales. You won’t want to miss our inaugural year at this wonderful new facility!

Special Events are open to spectators on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, to win guns by skill and/or raffle. Guns and ammunition supplied with $3 entry fee.

  • Competition from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Browning: “Rimfire Pistol”
  • Vang Comp: “Shotgun”
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2

  • Competition from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • World Championships begin with all categories and divisions in centerfire pistol, with the Super Squads shooting the Iron Sight Division.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3
  • Competition from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • World Championships continue with all categories and divisions in center fire pistol, with the Super Squads shooting the exciting Open Division race guns.
  • NSSF “First Shots”
  • NSSF Hospitality Banquet 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Awards Presentation

First Shots Classes

NEW To Guns? We will once again be holding the NSSF’s First Shots class at the Steel Challenge on Saturday, November 3rd. This is a free course. There will be 2 classes held (9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) The class takes approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours and includes both classroom and range instruction. Guns and ammunition will be provided. Ear and eye protection will also be provided for those who do not have their own. If you would like to register for one of the classes, please send an email with your name, address, telephone number, age (if under 18), and which class you would like to register for to tammy@steelchallenge.com or call (724) 822-7390 to register.

Walk-up/Side Match Tickets

Don’t forget to take advantage of purchasing your walk-up tickets before the WSSC begins. You can buy 10 tickets for $24. That’s a savings of $6. You’ll still be able to buy more while you’re at the Match, but you’ll pay full price then ($3 for each event). Order Form coming soon!
